Press release – Cooperation enables digital application process for promotional loans

komuno and IKOR simplify the loan application process for municipalities and development banks

komuno GmbH and IKOR AG are working closely together on digitalising application processes for promotional loans via the credit platform komuno. Municipalities can invite tenders for short-term and investment loans. In future, they will also be able to apply for subsidies via komuno. The integrated programme finder will show the municipality which funding programmes meet their current needs. Online application forms will pre-fill certain fields automatically. The digital process will greatly simplify applications for subsidies by local authorities and the next steps at the development banks. komuno and IKOR are planning to launch the new feature by the end of this year.

Stephan Grunwald, Head of Development Banks Business at IKOR: "The interfaces between the komuno platform and the development banks are essential to the solution’s smooth functioning. As experts in technical integration, we ensure that the state development agencies’ IT systems are fully harmonised with the digital platform."

komuno and IKOR plan to steadily enhance the digital application process. "The aim is to digitalise the entire approval process – from the municipality's application for funding to the receipt of the money," says Robert Wassmer, Managing Director of komuno.

komuno GmbH is the company behind komuno, the digital platform for municipal loans. On komuno, local authorities invite tenders, and financial institutions submit binding offers. The platform interfaces with clients’ key systems and features a wealth of functions to facilitate analogue work steps. komuno meets all requirements regarding IT security and integrity and guarantees the confidentiality of all transaction data.
komuno is a joint venture of Helaba Digital GmbH & Co. KG and Lucht Probst Associates GmbH.

As a technology consultancy and software manufacturer, IKOR helps development banks and insurance companies with their digital transformation. Serving development banks has been a core part of IKOR’s business since the company was founded. The business has a long track record of cooperation with the majority of regional development banks. With the ABAKUS application system, IKOR has integrated the complete processing of a loan application into the SAP environment. IKOR’s portal solutions, flexible web services and API architectures help its clients master the digital age.
